Recently we performed for the Artesia Christian Homes seniors in an outstanding talent show consisting of piano, singing, dancing, and more! The seniors were an amazing audience and a special thank you to all of the members who performed. Below attached are some photos.

We will be planning to perform in the future such as during Christmas as well, next time bigger and better.

Chess classes have just concluded at the Holy Artesia Church, and all participants are invited to our XFYD Chess Tournament!

XFYD Drawing Classes at Holy Artesia Church

Recently, we have opened summer classes at the Holy Artesia Family Church. Our art classes have officially started and are going amazing!

Cerritos Triathlon Club

Cerritos Triathlon Club is the first Triathlon club created in the City of Cerritos registered on the official USA triathlon Site. The mission of the club is to provide a supportive and inclusive community for all triathletes, regardless of ability level. We offer a variety of training programs, social events, and race support to help our members achieve their goals. We believe that triathlon is a great way to stay fit, have fun, create connections, be athletic and beyond.

Please note all members must sign up through USA Triathlon and also sign liability waivers.

XFYD October Fondant Class

Over the course of October, XFYD has had a fondant class, that has taught many students how to sculpt. In this class, students have been taught how to make a realistic cake in 4 classes.

The feedback from the kids has been great, and we will be teaching this class again! Thank you for all that signed up for this class.

Memorial Day Beach Cleanup

This memorial day, XFYD had an event at Seal Beach, California, where we spent the day picking up trash.

Some of the things we found included towels, crocs, and even the parts from a huge firework! There was friendly competition between the volunteers, and they competed to see how much trash they could pick up. Maximo came in first, almost completely filling up his bag with trash.

It was a great event and it was something that was truly meaningful for many of the volunteers. Thank you for reading!

Cerritos Talent Show 2022

In the year of 2019, the United States Protesters in Hong Kong clashed with police, a fire consumed an 850-year-old cathedral in Paris, the U.S. women’s soccer team won the World Cup and President Donald Trump became the third president in the U.S. history to be impeached. Now, these seem to be pretty important but… this was also the year that the dance class for XFYD started.

We started as a K-pop class, with a student volunteer teacher (a senior now), who taught us and showed us a little bit of what dance is. We switched a few teachers as schedules collided, and decided that we would need a professional for the future of the class. Now, we are a class that teaches about the history and styles of hip-hop and also a part of the history of this organization. We are still fully functioning, just recently performing in the Cerritos City’s Annual Talent show, where we danced to the piece Swan Song.

We are recording and performing ITZY’s hit single “First” so stay tuned!

Cerritos Chinese Culture Day

At the Cerritos Library, there was the Chinese Culture day where there traditional Chinese culture was presented and celebrated. XFYD, as a group, decided to perform a traditional lion dance. With our colorful fancy costumes and training from professionals, we were ready to perform.

About 7 people performed, with two father and sons. It was a great time, and was an event that had cultural meaning to many of the performers.

XFYD Holiday Wish Cards Charity Event

With the HOLIDAYS coming up, many seniors in nursing homes are feeling more LONELY, especially with the pandemic going around this year. Well, a great way to spend your free time is by volunteering to make cards or drawings for them. By doing so, you can get EASY VOLUNTEER HOURS but also make someone’s day!

Artesia International Street Fair

At the Artesia International Street Fair, the XFYD dance crew performed the Swan Song from Shang Chi, choreographed by Ms. Ally.

Our dance group had worked hard for this song and performed this song the first time. Swan Song was chosen as our song because Shang Chi had just come out and was a fantastic movie.

It was a great event, and it was significant for many of the volunteers. Thank you for reading!
