XFYD worked with the Holy Family Artesia Church to offer art classes during the last week of June. Through a series of various hands-on artistic activities, students were able to express their creativity through different forms of art. Taught by our teachers Brayden Go, Rondo Tran, and Jasmine Anwar, they explored different techniques and mediums, enjoying the creative process while learning new skills.
The first day of classes focused on mastering self-portraits and learning the fundamentals of facial proportions. The following day was even more hands-on as students engaged in the Japanese art of folding paper known as origami. On the third day, the class delved into customizable art with students making their own stickers, followed by crafting custom keychains using shrinking plastic on the fourth day. An art competition was held on the fifth and final day, where the kids competed for an arts and crafts kit. Throughout the program, students developed fundamental skills such as expressing creativity, problem-solving, and enhancing fine motor skills.
