XFYD is pleased to announce that it is opening a Spring Programming Competition!
Participating is absolutely free, and programmers of all ages are encouraged to submit a project for the theme “GOOD FOR THE WORLD”. Then, submit an email to [email protected] between the dates April 1 – April 15 containing:
- A file of the code (any file is allowed, and any coding language is allowed)
- A 1-2 minute video pitching the code, how the code works, and clearly explaining the code’s purpose
- A list of resources used (if you’ve received help, etc).
We encourage participants to have fun and be creative in interpreting the project theme “Good for the world”. This project is meant to give our coding students in the beginning Python class the ability to put their skills to good use.
Winners will receive an Amazon gift card and have their projects featured on the XFYD website.
As the world becomes more and more digitized, the importance of coding and AI becomes more and more prevalent as computers start to supersede human abilities in many critical areas of the labor force. When XFYD interviewed Dr. Tang, a Computer Science professor at CSU Dominguez Hills, he emphasized the power of computers to do good, for both companies and individuals. Understanding the power of computers through programming and coding is a vital skill to learn, which is why XFYD held a Python Class and are planning future classes online and at a church. We encourage everyone with basic programming knowledge to participate!
Feel free to email [email protected] for any questions! We wish all our participants good luck.
